Giving Thanks for Transformed Lives

Many of you may remember the story of Mary and her sister, Frida. Orphaned at a very young age, they were sleeping on the streets of Kinshasa with no one to care for them. Vulnerable and alone, they were used and abused, unable to help themselves and desperately in need of a hand of relief.

But when they came to Theresa’s House, their lives began to change.

Mary graduated from college, is married with a child, and runs her own successful cleaning business where she trains and employs others. Frida is also a college graduate, married, and working as a secretary. Both sisters often reflect on their journey with deep gratitude, saying that their lives would not have been possible without the love and support of donors from Sioux Falls.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

This Thanksgiving, Mary and Frida—alongside hundreds of other children and families who have been helped—want to say thank you from the bottom of their hearts. Your generosity has transformed over 350 lives—providing them with education, safety, and the hope of a beautiful future.
